You know those adorable, iconic Ball mason jars you find at every hip farmers market from Nashville to Pasadena? Our photographer / director Ellen Silverman teamed up with advertising gurus JWT to bring their latest multi-platform campaign to life.
No stranger to shooting food, Ellen’s experience with cookbooks from pop culture icons, including Gwyneth Paltrow for My Father’s Daughter, Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Back to the Kitchen, and a James Beard Award-nominated cookbook with Ana Sofía Peláez, The Cuban Table: A Celebration of Food, Flavors, and History, gave her the winning edge.
Ellen and her talented crew built a warm, rustic scene, within a clean setup, to tell the brand’s narrative in both stills and motion, “We worked with just light, our surface and background, the jar, and the ingredients,” she shares. “We had very specific cues to use to tell the story in one shot... in a very simple, yet impactful way.”
Well Ellen, you nailed it, and we’re inspired. Time for me to get out my grandma’s famous preserves recipe and get to canning.
